Would a tungsten carbide wedding band CAUSE A RASH, or which binder is better in your ring, NICKEL or COBALT?

Tungsten in its raw form is a powder. A manufacturer combines the tungsten with an alloy sometimes cobalt and sometimes nickel to bind it all together. You want to find a tungsten ring with a nickel binder. If you are allergic to nickel you might have a reaction. However, nickel is extremely common and is found in many everyday items like coins, pants buttons, belt buckles, and tools. If you have not had problems with any of these products, you should not have a problem with tungsten rings. Nickel allergies can be confirmed by a doctor as well using a patch test.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to make sure you only buy "COBALT FREE" tungsten carbide jewelry. If your jewelry has "COBALT" as an alloy it will have a NEGATIVE REACTION with your skin and over time the tungsten carbide jewelry will begin developing OXIDATION SPOTS on it which CANNOT BE REMOVED OR POLISHED AWAY.

How to choose the RIGHT SIZE of the tungsten carbide band?

When ordering a tungsten carbide ring, the best way to determine the right size is to visit a jeweler to have your finger professionally measured. Due to the fact that tungsten carbide bands are made in comfort fit design, you will have a try on comfort fit rings when sizing to get the correct ring size. However, if you use the ring size of a band ring you currently own, you should pay attention to whether it is a comfort fit band or not. A comfort fit band ring is curved on the inside so the surface that the ring is touching your finger is less. Therefore, for the same ring size, a comfort-fit band ring might feel larger than a straight-fit ring. If you currently own a non-comfort-fit wedding ring, the recommendation is to order half size down when ordering a tungsten carbide ring.
